Leiden TimeLapse

Timelapse photography is the storytelling of events with different rates! It can be used for different purposes but generally speaking, it aims to show the motions of objects, people, changes of light, shadows, colors, etc., maybe in order to remind us how the precious moments can pass very quickly! Technically, it is a method to capture photos of the same scene with a predefined time interval which is normally greater than or equal to 1 second. Converting these images into a movie with higher frame rate (25-30 frame/second), will speed up the possible changes of the scene and hence feeling the motion of objects.  For example, it can show how clouds change with time and what would be a typical path of the Moon or Sun/stars on sky above each location! This technique also benefits of high quality and long-exposure photos. Nevertheless, Timelapse photography requires a lot of practices, experiences and learning different techniques of photography and image processing, but at the end, the results are astonishing!

The “Leiden Timelapse” is my first attempt to make a long time lapse movie! It took me more than twenty hours of practices and taking photos of about ten thousands and couple of times more to spend on processing them. Although it is not perfect, but I hope you enjoy it!
